Herbal medicine is amazing for boosting the immune system and warding off the common cold, flu and allergies. Herbs to boost the immune system could include common things you have growing in your garden like Rosemary, Thyme and Sage! In this class you’ll learn about a handful of herbs you can use and you’ll make a medicinal vinegar to take home with you. No herbal experience necessary.

Rent a Pirate Pond Boat from Center for Wooden Boats to sail in Lake Union Park’s Model Boat Pond. These 39-inch pond boats are scale models of the R-Boat Pirate which is on exhibit on their docks at South Lake Union. Sailing these miniature racing yachts is a great way to learn the basic concepts of sailing while enjoying time at the park.
Sit back, sip, and savor the wine (and views) Argosy Cruises’ professionally trained wine stewards will guide you through tastings of each featured vintage as you enjoy the waters connection Lake Union and Lake Washington. This 1.5 hour cruise is highlights & sights only, no narration. Adults 21+ and minors are welcome.

Our Cast Off! program allows visitors the chance to sail in classic boats.
The boats we use include: Admirable, a Bristol Bay Gillnetter, Amie, a Friendship sloop, Colleen Wagner, an Egret Sharpie, our long-boat Discovery, our New Haven Sharpie Betsy D, or a visiting classic.
Before and after your sail take a walk on the docks and discover the boats. Watch the volunteer crews rigging the boats. They’ll be happy to answer any question you might have, and you may even have a chance to help with the rigging!
Rides start throughout the day and last about 45 minutes. Sign-ups begin in person at 10am; space is limited and rides fill quickly. Arrive early to ensure your first choice, especially on sunny days and holidays. One person may sign up five other people who are not present, but no phone reservations are accepted. All ages are welcome and we have life jackets for everyone. We sail rain or shine, but wind conditions may keep us at the dock.

Just outside of the old Rock Salt a biker said he was riding along and got hit with a big gust of wind and went down. He’s got a nasty cut on his leg but will be okay, ambulance and Medic One both responded. Happened at about 3:45pm today 6/1/18.

As luck would have it, Seattle Beer Week is bringing Lucky Envelope to Brave Horse Tavern (since they’re huge fans) for a one-of-a-kind Lucky Envelope Beer Dinner, including an exclusive surprise beer for all the lucky guests! Brave Horse Chef, Bradley Layfield, has created a unique pairing menu for the dinner that opens with a “Bearded Chef” greeter snack with Lucky Envelope’s “Beardless Brewer Irish Red” – just to kick off the fun! 5 courses + 6 beers…how lucky is that?
