In an earlier blog post we talked about how there was a site on North Lake Union that might become a community wharf! It looks like the Center for Wooden Boats has gone through with leasing out the land located just to the west of Gasworks Park.
The plan is to eventually develop the property into a community wharf for the nearby neighborhoods of Fremont & Wallingford , giving access to the lake! The idea for a community wharf was proprosed by the Seattle/King County Maritime Heritage Task Force nearly seven years ago!
The cleanup and restoration of the site, a longtime marine fuel facility, should be completed by spring 2012.
