Summer is officially here! Well, at least that’s what the calendar says. Looking outside it looks more like fall, or even early spring! South Lake Union is going to have two seperate Farmers Markets for all of us to enjoy!
First off is the Floating Farmers Market at Lake Union Park.
The FarmBoat Floating Market is held aboard the historic steamship Virginia V docked at Lake Union Park Wharf. Vendors display locally grown produce, specialty foods and artisan crafts on board the 125′ wooden vessel–just as it was done a century ago. Market visitors can tour the ship for free and learn about Puget Sound agricultural and maritime heritage while they shop. (There is plenty of space on deck to enjoy lunch with fantastic shoreline views of downtown Seattle and Lake Union).
Market Day & Time:
Thursdays, 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
May – December
The second is the Pike Place Market Express at South Lake Union
Shop from Pike Place Market farmers at this weekly market at South Lake Union. For the second year, our location is at 410 Terry Avenue, between Harrison and Republican. Held every Thursday from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Look for noontime chef cooking demonstrations throughout the summer.
Starts: June 21st, 2012
Ends: September 27th, 2012
