I live, work, play and was married on Lake Union. As far as I’m concerned it’s “my” lake. I know, I know… I have to share it with the others that live, work, and play on and around it but I’m very possessive and protective of it. I make a living off of it by selling real estate around it. It is my sanctuary when I run away for an afternoon on The Way Home (my boat). It is my entertainment when I’m watching the Harbor Patrol boat chasing someone down for breaking a wake, the sand barge going through trying to navigate around the kayakers, the seaplanes trying to land during the Duck Dodge sailboat race (that’s the best) and the Fourth of July fireworks. So, I’ve decided to talk about it and hopefully get other people talking about it. My goal is to share my observations through words and photos and maybe even a video or two. I want to highlight all the fabulous advantages of having Lake Union in our lives. The great restaurants, the parks, the views as well as the history and stories of the lake and the people who live and work around it. Since this is my first post, I’m guessing that my ideas may be different on January 1, 2011. But that’s what I’m hoping for as well. I want this to be a work in progress and am hoping for ideas from others to make this useful, entertaining, and relative. Who knows what this will become…I just know I’m really excited about it!
