Registered Domestic Partnerships

Registered Domestic Partnerships…

Did you know…

If you purchased a primary residence as a single individual and are now in a registered domestic partnership, the domestic partner would have community property rights as of the date you registered with the state.

For an investment property, the domestic partner would only have community property rights if they made any monetary contributions to the property or if the investment property had been occupied as a primary residence during any time since the date of the registration.
