We just purchased a home through Laurie and let me tell you, it was a wonderful, fun and exciting experience! Laurie Way handled the sale of our home at 9243 View Ave NW, and the subsequent purchase of our condominium at 3100 W Commodore Way.
We met Laurie while we were looking at some condominiums on our own. Our search effort consisted of scanning the newspaper ads and picking out one or two addresses to visit on Sunday afternoon. Usually, that is a sure fire method of finding not condominiums but disappointment.
When we met her at a condominium open house, she realized that we had sincere aspirations to move from a home to a condominium. She formally requested that she be retained to assist us in our search. She was pleasant enough, so we decided to work with her. From the very first day we were impressed with her professionalism. She surveyed the housing sales in the neighborhood and surrounding area to determine if our asking price was in line (they’re usually too high). From us she obtained the technical description of our condominium desires and the price range we are able to consider. A computer search for suitable properties for us to view was instigated. At times, when we were both free, she conducted us on tours of the homes that met our criteria. On Sundays She held open houses for potential customers at our home. Although we all felt that are home was fairly priced, it did not sell as quickly as anticipated. In the meanwhile we found the condominium we wanted. We bought the condominium with the provision that our house would close within a year.
In order to spare you any further reading, our house eventually sold for 95% of the price asked. We closed on the condominium and are now firmly ensconced.
Laurie, my wife and I, had thorough the course of events become close friends. We never had a major disagreement and at no time did we ever feel we were not getting her best effort.
We have lived in our new home now for almost 2 years. We still see Laurie for a drink now and then. Not only had we been business associates, but we had become, more importantly, friends.
